    The curved single edged Damascus steel blade with gold and silver inlay with invocation in Arabic reading O, Alla! on the flat of the blade, and marked on the spine J13 1897 (probably an inventory or collection mark), a gold and silver inlaid iron cross guard and carved black horn grip with incised animal and foliate decoration, the red velvet scabbard with similar silver and gold inlay metal mounts. Blade length 31 1/2 inches, overall length 39 inches.
